Who Writes This
Potting Corner is run by a software engineer, not a horticulturist. That matters, because it explains the approach. After killing a series of houseplants the usual ways (overwatering, a "bright" corner that turned out to be dim, a decorative pot with no drainage hole), the fix that finally worked was to stop guessing and start measuring: a light meter app instead of "looks bright enough," a finger in the soil instead of a calendar, a note of how many days each pot takes to dry.
Every guide here is written from that angle. We give numbers where numbers exist (foot-candles, days until dry, mix ratios), we say "it depends" when it does, and we skip the parts of plant care that only matter to collectors. Where a topic needs expertise we don't have, we check it against university extension guides and established horticulture references before publishing, and we update articles when we learn we got something wrong.
